Naturally repairing furniture wood

Simple changes in our homes make life more enjoyable, such as repairing wood or the dining table, scratched by young children. What if the repair is done by natural means such as Canola Oil and Vinegar.

I read about the following way to repair furniture wood on a Facebook group called Getting Healthy with Gail. The picture is taken from there as well. No copyright sign was spotted, this is why I post the picture under Fair Use with the due credit.

The method that is suggested is the following.

"Naturally Repair Wood With Vinegar and Canola Oil. So, for a super cheap, use 3/4 cup of oil, add 1/4 cup vinegar. white or apple cider vinegar, mix it in a jar, then rub it into the wood. You don’t need to wipe it off; the wood just soaks it in." Apparently it's very inexpensive. The time that it takes is only one hour and the cost is around twenty dollars.

If anyone of our readers has tried it, please share with us your experience. Did it work for you?

It worked really well for us. We just did our backdoor steps with it. We cleaned the wood very well before, let it dry then sanded any rough areas. Rinsed, let dry. Then used this mixture using a 1:3 parts vinegar to oil. Make sure that every time you dip the brush the oil is well mixed, look for tiny emulsified beads in the vinegar. I will see if hubby can post pics to my facebook.
Thanks for sharing Kimberly. Did you try cleaning the wood with this natural way today? I am glad the story was useful.
