How This Woman Lost 50 Pounds with Intermittent Fasting

There are about as many "diets" as there are days in the year, but with all those choices have you ever considered intermittent fasting as part of the plan?

You may have been told in the past that fasting inhibits weight loss by causing the body to go into a type of hibernation which causes the body to hold onto fat, but new evidence from studies is proving that fasting, even occasionally, aids in weight loss and has other health benefits including:

• Reduced blood pressure
• Decreased fat mass
• Improved insulin sensitivity to fight diabetes
• Reduced oxidative damage to cells and DNA
• Lower inflammation biomarkers
• Improved brain health
• Greater autophagy, the ability of cells to eliminate waste and repair themselves.

To put that theory to the test Heather Tong decided to only eat during an 8 hour window and began using a product called FitTeam Fit. Her routine also included drinking half her body weight in ounces daily or about a gallon of water a day.

“I had struggled with unexpected weight gain for the last four years,” says Heather, “and had tried everything to lose weight. I also suffered from depression and didn’t want to leave my house. I really had nothing to lose,” Heather explains, “I was extremely sensitive to any type of stimulant due to my anxiety. I couldn't drink coffee or energy drinks to help with the fatigue or appetite. I decided I wanted to try Fit because the product is organic and has natural ingredients. I started off with 1/2 a packet twice a day. I never had jitters, heart racing, or a crash.”

Heather’s results were phenomenal. Before starting the program she had seen her doctor and gotten a full check-up including blood work. Within the first 3 days she lost 4 pounds and was able to get things done like cleaning. Her depression lifted and she was sleeping better without having to use a heating pad for pain and no longer experienced stiffness in the morning. Within 2 weeks she was down a pant size.

Over the next 60 days, to her doctor’s amazement, she lost 40 pounds and was taken off her blood pressure medications since her pressure had returned to normal and also eliminated the medications for pain, depression and anxiety. Lab results revealed her triglycerides decreased from 186 to 128.

“In just 90 days I’ve lost 50 pounds, gotten off 7 medications, have normal blood pressure and labwork and no longer have any pain. I’ve gone from a size 26 to a 16,” says Heather, “but the best part is that my anxiety is gone. I'm going out in public, able to attend events, and I feel alive again.”

Congratulations for Heather. Fasting for weight loss works, but so do a lot of other approaches. No dietary approach is magic. Some research suggests that a very low carbohydrate diet yields the exact same benefits of fasting—without requiring you to stop eating. If you have find yourself overeating after a fast or if you get shaky and light-headed while fasting (signs of hypoglycemia), fasting probably isn’t a good approach for you. Know your body and select the appropriate diet plan accordingly.
