How to make fruit ice pops at home

Making fruit ice pops at home is very easy and one only needs some creativity.

Summer is a great time to make fruit ice pops. When the weather is hot we all crave for cold foods like ice creams, yogurts or frozen yogurts. The last one is a frozen dessert, which is made with yogurt, fruits and sweets. They are usually known by the tradenames Frogurt and FroYo.

But let's get back to our fruit ice pops and how to make them at home. These are actually fruit salads, but made with ice pops. Ingredients are very simple. You need 2 cups full of Kiwi, two cups full of mango and two full cups of strawberry. I checked how Martha Stewart recommends the recipe and noticed that she also adds peach and blueberries. It's up to you what fruits you can use.

Now take each of the above mentioned fruits and blend them with a little bit of water. If you like to add little extra taste and color, you can use some grape juice as well. One needs 1/4 cup of water for each fruit. Blend them until you have a fruit paste.

Then, take your ice pop molds and layer each fruit. I suggest you start with Kiwi, then mango and then strawberry. In fact, you can choose your own combination and order.

In an hour or two you will have two servings of fruit ice pops if you let the ice pops sit in a freezer for an hour or so. While the popsicle making technology has impressively advanced in the last decade or two, this is a better and more creative way. Make them at home and make them a fun activity with your family.
