 <title>Alaska Offers Affordable Health Insurance To Non-Profit Employees</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Foraker Group, an organization that supports not-for-profit organizations in Alaska, on Thursday announced that it will offer &lt;strong&gt;health insurance&lt;/strong&gt; to employees of private, not-for-profit organizations in the state, the &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.adn.com/&quot;&gt;Anchorage Daily News&lt;/a&gt; reports. The coverage will be offered through Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska and will be funded with $2 million from the Rasmuson Foundation. The program will not use state money.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Alaska Requires Equal Health Insurance Approach</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Alaska Statute requires insurers who offer health insurance coverage to small employers in the state to offer each small employer (defined as those with 2-50 employees) all the health insurance plans that they offer to other small employers in the state regardless of the health or claims experience of the group. They must offer coverage to all eligible employees and not deny coverage to an employee. This law does not require an employer to purchase coverage for their employees.&lt;/p&gt;
