American troops that are serving in combat zones will soon be required to sit with counselors trained to recognize post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal tendencies and other mental health problems.

Hospitalization for H1N1 flu now highest among young

According to the most recent update from the CDC, hospitalization rates for H1N1 flu are now highest among 0 to 4 year olds. For the week of November 1 to 7, 35 pediatric deaths resulted from flu, 26 of which were confirmed from H1N1. Activity for H1N1 flu remains "unprecedented during seasonal flu", according to the CDC.

Researchers from Johns Hopkins have tied together a complex link between sex hormones in men, low vitamin D and heart and bone health. Lower levels of estrogen, but not testosterone, combined with lower levels of vitamin D are found to increase risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. Vitamin D is now found to interact with sex hormones in men and is tied to heart disease and bone health.
