His first tour of duty was a year in Vietnam as a battalion surgeon; he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He spent his second year at Kenner Army Hospital in Virginia where he served in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. Following his army service, he completed a three-year residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. After almost three decades of private practice, he transitioned to a career in freelance writing, primarily in the healthcare field.
Teresa Tanoos is a former medical reporter and a veteran TV news anchor. A widely respected journalist with over 20 years of television experience, Teresa has worked at affiliates for NBC, CBS and ABC. Throughout her career, Teresa has received numerous awards and garnered national recognition for her medical reporting and educational service to the community. As a twenty-five year cancer survivor, Teresa has first-hand knowledge of the importance of receiving accurate and up-to-date health information.
