In an effort to promote a healthy work/life balance and enhance the employee experience, SureWest has launched Fitness and Child Care/Dependent Care programs.

The SureWest Fitness Program was created to promote a healthy lifestyle among the employee base and enhance employee satisfaction by providing free memberships at local fitness centers. There are no out of pocket costs for SureWest employees and they have the choice of seven local fitness centers at which to register (24 Hour Fitness, California Family Fitness, Curves, Fitness 19, Fitness 180, Gold's Gym and Tru Fitness).

Additionally, SureWest has implemented a Child Care/Dependent Care program that assists employees with child or elder care expenses. The company will contribute direct financial support to qualified employees who sign up for this tax-qualified program.

"We are extremely excited about implementing these two new programs into what we believe is an already robust employee rewards program here at SureWest," says SureWest President and CEO Steve Oldham. "Our goal is to ensure our employees enjoy working at SureWest and can attain a positive work/life balance. Our rewards programs differentiate us from other employers and, in addition to fostering employee satisfaction, help us retain current employees and attract the right new ones. We hope these programs solidify SureWest as one of the most desired workplaces for people in the greater Sacramento area."

SureWest is a believer in promoting work/life balance among its employees and offers additional beneficial employee rewards programs, such as:

-- Employee of the Year and Employees of the Quarter

-- Awards providing compensation for standout accomplishments (Bravo, Great Idea, Community Service, Innovation, Safety, Referral and Leadership)

-- Discounts on traveling, theme parks, restaurants and SureWest products

-- Automatic enrollment and six percent match on 401ks

-- 100 percent reimbursement on educational tuition and books

-- Flexible work schedules with telecommuting options

-- A relaxed company dress code when appropriate

-- Competitive cash compensation

-- Company-wide bonus compensation program
