The health insurance plan currently in debate in Washington may have good intentions. In reality, if it is actually intended to provide coverage for all, there are a lot of bumps that need to be overcome before any affordable plan is approved. According to Obama’s health insurance overall, health insurance costs will be a stretch for even the middle class.

The historic public health insurance option by Obama has been rejected by the Finance Committee. The vote was 15 to 8, and this makes a victory for Baucus and his supposedly affordable health care plan. It looks as though a massive overhaul of health care may not be in the running.

Entitled “Organizing for America’s Health Reform Video Challenge,” it urges anyone who wants to add their voice and creativity to the debate to grab a video camera and create a 30-second ad that could end up on national television.

Of the 42 million Medicare health insurance recipients, the House has voted to freeze Medicare premiums for the next year. This is based on the current law that Part B premiums cannot rise any faster than what the Social Security cost-of-living increases. A few have already enjoyed this benefit, however, 11 million more people on Medicare desperately needed this as most of these were low income people who already qualified for Medicaid.

One of the largest private health insurance providers in United State Humana sent a letter to its customers telling them they may lose some benefits if the government goes on with the Health Care reform and cuts funding for Medicare Advantage Plans. According to NPR "the Feds told the company to knock it off." The letter has spurred spats with Feds.
