Menopause has many expected and some surprising effects on women's health, even after the immediate symptoms have subsided.

Rush Generations, a free health and aging program designed for older adults and family caregivers, is offering a FREE health information program, 'Menopause and Beyond', Wednesday, April 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The program will be held in Searle Conference Center, 5th floor, Professional Building, on the Rush University Medical Center campus, located at 1725 W. Harrison in Chicago.

Obstetrician Barbara Soltes, MD, and geriatrician Maria Hansberry, MD, will speak with participants about both the initial changes that menopause brings on in a woman's body and also the long-term health effects. They will also take an in-depth look at the postmenopause issues that affect women and contribute to their overall health.
