BeautyforLife.com is the new interactive website where consumers can answer a few questions and receive a customized cosmetic medicine Beauty Plan. The website--a joint initiative of American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)--is helping consumers understand and make educated choices among the full range of cosmetic medicine procedures.

"As patients' options increase, so too does their confusion about which ones can best meet their needs," said Dr. Richard D'Amico, ASPS president and co-chair of the task force. "One patient might inquire about a tummy tuck when liposuction would do, while another might think injectable fillers will provide the results that only a facelift can achieve."

BeautyforLife.com invites visitors to take a confidential, interactive quiz to match information about their age, appearance, beauty regimen, lifestyle, and body image with facts and images that show them how they can look their best throughout a lifetime. The resulting Beauty for Life plan, created especially for each user, offers advice on both lifestyle changes and cosmetic medical procedures that can help them achieve their personal goals. Visitors who complete the quiz may also sign up to receive Beauty for Life emails with the latest news about the cosmetic procedures that interest them most.

To help consumers navigate the cosmetic medicine landscape, BeautyforLife.com outlines four levels of cosmetic medical care: noninvasive, minimally invasive, moderately invasive and surgical. And to help people look their best at any age, there is a guide to the cosmetic issues that commonly concern people in each decade of life and the cosmetic medical procedures--from noninvasive to surgical--to address them.

"Plastic surgeons who are members of ASAPS and ASPS have a comprehensive medical knowledge of the entire body and how aging and environmental factors affect every part," said Dr. Renato Saltz, ASAPS president-elect and task force co-chair. "They are uniquely qualified to help their patients choose the most effective solutions to meet their needs--whether it's skin resurfacing, liposuction, or a combination of several cosmetic procedures."

BeautyforLife.com charts the most popular cosmetic medicine procedures, from the teen years--when corrective procedures are most common--through the 60s and beyond-- when many seniors want to look as young as they feel.

"The website brings the knowledge and expertise of ASPS and ASAPS member plastic surgeons to a whole new online audience," said Dr. D'Amico. "And its 'tell a friend' tool gives visitors an easy way to spread the word." With up-to-date features and the latest news, the website will give visitors a reason to come back--again and again.
