for eMaxHealthCBO releases report that examines effects of Massachusetts health insurance law.
- Cost estimate for HR 976, the SCHIP Reauthorization Act of 2007, Congressional Budget Office: CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation estimate the cost of legislation that would reauthorize and expand SCHIP (HR 976),as approved by the Senate on Aug. 2. CBO projects changes in enrollmentand spending in SCHIP and Medicaid under the bill (CBO estimate, 8/24).
- "Getting Ready for Reform: Insurance Coverage and Access to and Use of Care in Massachusetts in Fall 2006," Commonwealth Fund: The report by Sharon Long and Mindy Cohen of the Urban Instituteuses data from a survey of 3,000 Massachusetts residents to provide abaseline from which to document changes in insurance coverage andhealth care experiences as the state implements its new healthinsurance law. The report examines gaps in care for the uninsured,costs of care and coverage deficiencies in private health plans forlow- and moderate-income adults (Commonwealth Fund release, 8/29).
