Medium length hairstyles naturally suit different face shapes since there isn't too much hair to overwhelm one's features but just enough to lend them definition. For instance, if you have a long and thin face, then you should probably give the long straight hair look a miss. You can understand this by taking a look at some of Gwyneth Paltrow's latest pictures where she simply looks stunning in her medium length hairstyle with hair feathered lightly over her cheek bones and forehead.

There are also other different kinds of face shapes, these include round, oblong, oval, square, and heart shaped. Here is a brief look at the various styles that suit the above mentioned face shapes:

If you have an oval face, then you have the prospect of wearing just about any hairstyle, be it medium, short or long and if your face shape is oblong or rectangular it would be wise to choose a medium or short cut such as a 'bang' hairstyle. This would lend a gentler and softer look to your face. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Mariah Carey have oval shaped faces whereas the faces of Stephanie Seymour and Janet Jackson are oblong in shape.

A medium hairstyle that best suits a round face would be one that is swept back away from the face while creating more fullness and height at the crown. Perfect role models for this type of style are Christina Ricci and Kate Winslet. For a heart shaped face, a chin length cut can do wonders while long hair should be avoided altogether. A similar style is also recommended for those with square faces. The names of some famous heart-shaped faces include Claudia Schiffer and Michelle Pfeiffer and those of some square-faced stars include Demi Moore and Sandra Bullock.

Whichever medium hairstyle you choose for your face type, it is important to keep in mind that your personality is just as important as your face when it comes to making this decision.

In despite of how long your hair is, a suitable hairstyle is very important, also hair care can not overlook.

I have hair that is shoulder length and layered. My side bangs have grown out to blah-ness. I would really love some pictures posted of celebrities with a heart shape face, and medium length hair. It would be greatly appreciated because I seriously need some help!!!
