AALTCI Establishes National Long-Term Care Insurance Awareness Week

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) established National Long-Term Care Awareness Week and will mark the annual event November 4-10, 2007.

"Awareness Week has become the industry's focal point and the single greatest opportunity to create awareness," explains Jesse Slome, the Association's executive director. "This year the focus of our awareness efforts will be educating the millions of baby boomers who are approaching retirement. Across the country some 10,000 producers will communicate with 1 million Americans during the week, the single largest grassroots effort ever undertaken by LTC agents."

"Leading long-term care insurers will also play an increasing role in educating their agents and brokers, Slome notes."

Last year, the Association and its members were successful in arranging for the Governors of several states to declare it Long-Term Care Awareness Week in their states. The organization also partnered with leading industry groups such as the Assisted Living Federation of America for the purpose of conducting local-level awareness programs. "There have been significant positive industry developments over the past year," Slome says. "We have a great story to tell."
